Anesthesia Medical Group, PC (AMG) is a 64 physician, 170 certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA) anesthesia practice serving the greater Nashville community. AMG provides anesthesia services on the Baptist, Centennial, St. Thomas, Summit, and Williamson medical center campuses. In addition, we serve a number of ambulatory surgery centers on those campuses and elsewhere.
Anesthesia Medical Group (AMG) is a private medical practice consisting of anesthesiologists, nurse anesthetists, and other professional staff. Anesthesiologists are physicians (MDs) who have had three or more years of specialized training following graduation from medical school. Nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) are registered nurses who have graduated from an accredited school of nurse anesthesia.
AMG is primarily a care team practice in which anesthesiologists medically direct CRNAs. Our physicians are directly involved in every aspect of our patients’ anesthesia care. We believe the care team approach is the safest means of providing anesthesia care because there are at least two anesthesia providers involved in each patient’s care. This “extra pair of hands” often proves invaluable in both ensuring a smooth and expeditious flow within the preoperative environment and in critical moments of patient care. Our physicians are involved though the full continuum of anesthesia cares in both the surgical and obstetrical environments.
We provide anesthesia to over 100,000 surgical and 12,000 obstetric patients each year. In addition, our physicians serve our institutions in a variety of ways, such as being presidents of medical staffs, chief medical officers, medical directors, and board and committee members.
