VACATION AUCTION

Welcome to the Anesthesia Medical Group vacation auction site.

Below are some general guidelines on how the auctions work. Please review these instructions and acknowledge you understand these by entering your email address in the box provided.

A) You may bid on more than one auction at a time as long as you do not take more than 15 weeks of vacation for the entire year. B) Each auction has a minimum starting price and bids must be made in $100 increments. C) You must bid for yourself. We cannot place bids for you. D) Each auction has a specific ending date and time. Please pay careful attention to these! E) If a bid is received within 10 minutes of the ending time of the auction, the ending time will automatically advance to 10 minutes from the last bid time to allow time for counter bids. For example, if an auction is set to end at 7:00 pm and you place a bid on that item at 6:55, the end time will change to 7:05 pm. If someone then bids on this item at 7:03 pm, the end time would advance again to 7:13. This will continue until no bid is received for 10 minutes. Remember, the ending time only advances for bids received in the final 10 minutes of the auction. F) Ending times are staggered so that you can bid on another week if you do not win your first choice. G) The auction has the ability to 'bid up' for you. Enter the maximum amount you wish to bid on an auction and the system will automatically bid up to that amount for you. For example, an auction is listed as starting at $1000. You are willing to pay up to $10,000 for this auction, but do not want to start your bid there. Enter the bid as $10,000 and the auction will initally place your bid as $1000. As others bid against you, the system will automatically raise your bid until it reaches your $10,000 limit. You will always be the high bidder as long as the auction does not go over your maximum bid. H) The automatic bidding process works on a 'first come, first bid' basis. If your current bid is exactly the same as the high bid of the previous bidder, the high bid will go to the first bidder since he/she bid that amount first. For example, if Dr. X enters a high bid of $1500 on an auction starting at $1000, his initial bid will be $1000. If Dr. Y then bids $1500, the high bid will increase to $1500 for Dr. X since he placed his bid first. You must always enter a bid that is more than the high bid of any previous bidder. I) If you are outbid, the system will email you a notice. However, please do not rely on these emails to know if you are winning the auction or not. While our server sends these emails immediately, we have no control over how long it takes to reach you. J) Check the auctions you are bidding on periodically to make certain you are fully aware of the current status of these auctions. K) Make every effort to watch the auction as it is ending to make certain you are not outbid at the very end of the auction. L) Emails are sent to the email address you enter in the auction. Please be careful to enter the correct email address to make certain you receive emails on the auctions you are bidding on. M) You may raise your maximum bid at any time even if you currently are winning that auction. Enter your new maximum as a new bid on the auction you wish to increase and that amount will become your new maximum. N) You CANNOT lower your maximum bid. Please be very careful when entering your maximum bid as it cannot be lowered.
